Black Feminist Landscapes Reading Salon

September 17th: Community and conflict theme

How kismet?!Looks like folks across the Black Feminist Landscapes are reflecting on the same themes.

What do I mean?

A few weeks ago a friend and long term co-organizing partner shared a link in her stories that centered on conflict between June Jordan and Audre Lorde. I hadn’t read this story before, so I saved the link for reading salon.

Fast forward to 8/27/24. I see a post from Alexis Pauline Gummbs sharing thoughts and an offering on the same article. Her offering “in case you tried to reach me, and I couldn’t hear you: june jordan, audre lorde, and the phone call that never happened, is a writing reflection being offered on Thursday 8/29/24.”

We are going to revisit “disposability”, the definition of community, and navigating conflict in community. So, definitely check out the readings and reflection questions from the “April Disposability” post.
